Fine Al Lee

Man oh Man (and womans), I am glad to have the cd done. We spent all last winter recording it and then all summer with Kevin B and Ryan G making it sound luscious and cannon-like. Very proud of this. We recorded it in Jut’s (justin reynolds) basement. It was an interesting and awesome experience recording a sweet guitar track while occasionally sipping on a cold one and being tickled by jut’s lil girl brianna. I wasn’t used to that. I have played in recording studios a bunch but not usually while being tickled. I flail usually. True story. I’m just gonna say it… if you tickle me I am not responsible for my flailing elbows which may or may not break your breakables. I am very powerful when I flail.

I will post very soon on the gear that I use. Not that many people are interested in that but musicians usually like to know those things. So the next blog will be for the gear hounds out there. But I would like to take this time to make my Thank You’s and my No Thank You’s. We kept it pretty brief on the cd liner so here are my own personal ones…

Thank you:

  1. NOS energy drinks (orange flavor),
  2. rosaloves.com and Mochaclub.org for letting me donate some money to an incredible cause and then giving me the best t shirts EVER! I would wear just those 2 shirts all the time but that’s kinda lame. Whatever.
  3. the buffalo sabres
  4. my prs guitar
  5. labatt blue (in a can)
  6. cindy’s yummy cake scraps
  7. the pizza pantry
  8. my laptop

No Thank You:

  1. my lack of guitar skill
  2. having to work all the time
  3. labatt blue (makes me go to the can)
  4. hairy brown spiders
  5. brett favre (stop texting me)
  6. canadian hockey team
  7. the little hairs that have started trying to escape from my nose and ears
  8. verizon wireless and blackberry (for allowing ryan to text during practice)

Well that just about wraps it up! Hope you all enjoy the cd! We have started writing another one so hopefully sometime in 2011 it will be available.

John
